We had another great trip to Michigan this past Saturday. With qualifying into third spot we would be starting on the outside second row for our first heat race. With being conservative on the car and make some laps on the big 3/8 mile track we came home fourth. For the second heat race I would start on the inside second row and trying again to be cautious with the car, but unable to be as conservative we made contact with another car and had some issues with the front end. After our performance in the two heats Dad and I were very glad to see the track dry out and become slicker for the feature. With an outside second row start I was able to jump to second place in the early laps of the 25 lap feature. Around lap ten as the leader slipped up the track I was able to take the lead, and after a few challenges was able to hold on for our second USAC Ford Focus Midwest Dirt Series win.
