It felt very good to be back on the dirt. It also showed during the heat race at Gas City I-69 Speedway this past Friday night. Starting in the fourth hole and grabbing second off the start, left me plenty of time to work on the leader, but I was never able to put a good run together but the second place finish was good. After adjusting on the car a bit for the feature we were starting in the fourth hole again. After a few laps I was running in fourth and taking me time to find a sweet spot on the track, and having fun getting racing with third and fifth place. Around lap 10 there was a yellow and with restarting in third place I realized very quickly that I had problems. The bracket holding the steering gear had broke leaving me unable to turn the car! The fourteenth place finish is not at all how we wanted to start off the season on dirt.

The up coming weeks are very busy. We will be running at South Bend, IN this Wednesday night and then traveling to Madison, WI Friday on to Sun Pairie, WI on Sunday and back to Anderson, IN for our rain make up on Wednesday the 21st.
